Howard University’s
Elections Commission
‘Transparency, Integrity, Freedom’
What is the Howard University
Elections Commission?
The Howard University Election Commissions serve as the official body responsible for conducting and managing student elections, ensuring a fair and democratic process across campus. We oversee all aspects of the election cycle, from candidate registration and campaign management to organizing debates and ensuring compliance with university election rules. Our mission is to maintain the integrity of the election process, creating a transparent and accessible platform where every student’s voice is represented. Through our work, we foster student engagement in campus governance, empowering students to take part in shaping the future of Howard University’s leadership.
In addition to managing the logistics of the election, the Election Commissions also play a critical role in voter education and outreach. We provide students with comprehensive information about candidates, voting procedures, and election timelines, ensuring that all students are informed participants in the democratic process. Through debates, forums, and digital resources, we aim to cultivate a culture of active civic participation and leadership development. Our goal is to ensure that the elected representatives reflect the values, interests, and diversity of the student body, helping to build a stronger and more unified Howard University community.
